Adding Images to Company and Contact Detail Pages I love adding images to Company and Contact Detail Pages Here are three ways to do it: Two-click process from Google Images Mouse over the image area, whether it has an image or not, and youll see three icons. Click on the Google icon. When you click on the G icon, it will bring up search results from Google Image Search. If you find the picture you want, click on it and it will show up on the JibberJobber Contact Detail Page. Its that simple! Here is the Contact Detail Page with the picture that I clicked on: Another way to get an image on the Contact Detail Page is to bring it in from another website. You can do this from almost ANY website. Heres a picture of John Doe from his wikipedia page. When I right click on the image I get some options, including copy image URL (that is what I really want, but not all browsers have that option) the most universal, I think, is to open the image in a new tab so Ill click on that option: From that new tab Ill COPY the URL. Notice it ends in .jpg, which means it is an image file (as opposed to a website) Then, back in JibberJobber I will mouse over the image area and click on the middle option to upload from a URL. The popup give me a box to paste the URL: The difference between the first upload and this one is that this one is a bigger picture: You can also upload from your computer, but Im guessing youve done that a thousand times with other apps, so Im not going to go into that. 3 Secrets to Thriving the Holiday Season Survival is a barbaric word implying that one simply continues to be. I donât want to endure. I donât want to get by. I want to thrive. I want to flourish. I want to grow and change for the better. And with so many engagements during the holiday season, it can seem like our personal connection with ourselves has countless opportunities to get fazed, to feel rattled, to have our buttons pushed. So whatâs my secret to thriving amidst a seemingly hectic time? 1. Shush your ego and listen to your intuition. Ego may be loud, but intuition ultimately wins. Ego is the bully voice in your ear telling you to worry about what people will think, pushing you to people please, telling you to feel guilt or shame for a decision you made. Ego sucks. Intuition can slow down the song Selena Gomez, and remind you that mindfulness means non-judgmentally observing your thoughts, not reminiscing about the pain of the past or escaping reality by fantasizing about the future. Our intuition can gently, quietly, gracefully shut down our fearful ego with a key understanding that the most important action is to just do the best we can in this moment. 2. Feel okay about making a mess. Itâs okay to cry. When I felt overwhelmed with shame and guilt about being âwrongâ about former jobs, schools, boyfriends, etc, when I judged myself, I was not observing my thoughts; I was becoming them. Journaling is one strategy I use to get my thoughts out of my head so I can clear the space and describe what is happening. Itâs okay to make a mess, especially when you have much to glean from the space clearing and organized understanding that likely follows. 3. Say yes to you. Maybe not the best for introverts but for my fellow extroverts and people pleasers, this is a biggie. This might mean saying no to loved ones. This might mean declining the fourth party invitation for a quiet night in with a book or a movie. This might mean making choices that ego disapproves of. What will they think of me if I donât go? Will they be upset with me if I say no? Saying yes to yourself means that you are honoring your spirit. And if you donât know what your spirit wants, there is a fabulous book a great friend gave me for my birthday, The Crossroads of Should and Must, (btw, books make for great gifts!) Okay back to you and finding out what you need grab a pen and paper and doodle, draw, paint, collage, knit, create, write words, play music, go for a walk, look through your old photos, etcâ¦do something to connect with yourself and your soul. Give your body the sleep, water, movement, self -care, and nutrition it needs to be your best self toda y. KPIs Metrics for Business Success - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career My last post, Cash Is King in Small Business, discussed the importance of cash and the potential pitfalls of focusing on sales as a business metric. Growing sales can actually choke off cash and create more financial problems than it solves. Beyond cash and sales, there are a myriad of possible measurements that business owners need in order to evaluate the financial and operational health of their companies. Without such measurements, the owner is literally flying by the seat of their pants. One popular phrase for such measurements is key performance indicators or KPIs. For simplicity, letâs divide them into two categories â" KPIs especially important to young, growing companies and other KPIâs. While this is not a definitive set, here are some example indicators for measuring the health of your company and for making better management decisions: For young, growing companiesâ¦.. Customer acquisition cost: Marketing, sales, and other expenses required to acquire a new customer Customer lifetime value: The total net profit received from an average customer Conversion rate: The number of visitors to your website (or other customer generation source) divided by the total visitors Othersâ¦. Cash flow forecast: Cash in the bank plus cash anticipated in during the next 4 weeks (example period) minus cash outflow anticipated during the next 4 weeks Current ratio: Current assets divided by current liabilities (This is an indicator of the ability to generate cash flow and downward trending can signal coming cash problems) Revenue versus budget: Revenue versus budgeted revenue, for a given period Expenses versus budget: Expenses versus budgeted expenses, for a given period Inventory turnover ratio: Cost of goods sold divided by current period inventory Gross profit margin: Revenue minus cost of goods sold divided by total revenue Net profit: Revenue minus expenses Sales per employee: Total sales divided by total employees If you would like to consider additional KPIs that may be more valuable for your business, check out 75 KPIs Every Manager Needs to Know by Bernard Marr or download webKPI top KPIs here. There are lots of decisions an owner must make regarding KPIs. These include (1) which KPIs would be most important to establish and monitor, (2) what data items are currently being measured, (3) what data items not currently measured need to be measured, (4) how needed but unmeasured items can be measured in the future and (5) what actions will be taken to establish and measure the KPIs chosen. If this looks like a lot of work to you, it probably is. However, the benefits from establishing KPIs can be the difference between a successful business and a business failure. Well, online style curation companies do that!Iâve heard two polar reactions toward this trend:1. What? I have to pay someone to go shopping for me? That takes all the fun out! I LOVE shopping! Why would I ever buy stuff and not be able to âshopâ?2. What? I can have someone who knows what theyâre doing to pick stuff out and mail them to me? Iâm all ears!This may be a no-brainer for some of you shopaholics out there (lol), others may need more reasoning and justification before you jumped on this bandwagon. I am actually kind of pro-online style curat ion at this point. Iâve tried a few different companies, most of them have worked out quite nicely. I would say about 20% of all my shopping nowadays are done through an online style curation company.Here 5 reasons why I like to use online style curation services:1. ConvenienceThis is an obvious one â" you wonât need to browse through online catalogs of numerous products and figure out sizing, color, fit, all on your own. You usually would have to share a little bit about what type of clothing or accessories youâre looking for through some kind of survey/questionnaire. Then, the stylist will put together a list of items for you. A box arrives at your door with everything thatâs been curated for you!2. Break out of your style rutThis was one of the main driving forces for me when I started using online style curation services, specially DailyLook Elite. A few years ago, I started noticing that I was purchasing the same kind of items in different colors and di fferent brands, and I always gravitate toward the same styles everywhere I shopped. I wanted to try out different styles but I also wanted to make sure am trying the RIGHT styles for me. My first box with Dailylook came with pieces in colors I NEVER reach for (see mustard orange blazer to the right) but turned out to be the best new color/style I needed to try!3. Learn about new brands I like sticking to the same brands when it comes to shopping for clothes because you know you can expect the same fit and quality. Keeping up with new brands, especially a lot of the indie/novel brands that are popping up every day, is a daunting task. Through EUJEANCO, I learned about a new brand that made amazing jeans called Articles of Society. Through DailyLook, I learned about Just Black for equally amazing jeans. Both are in the $30-$60 price point. I know just the brands Iâd be looking for next time I need to pick out jeans! Four pairs of jeans from EUJEANCO that fit perfectly. The 5th pair (that I ended up keeping) is the muted pink pair Iâm wearing below!4. Avoid the chaotic mall situation If you live in Southern California or any major metropolitan city, you probably run into the situation that I do. It takes forever to find parking lot, super long lines to get cash register, long times at Starbucks⦠I hate lines. Therefore, I prefer shopping online!5. Reduce shipping wasteDid you know nearly 30% of all online purchases get returned to retailers? If Iâm completely honest, it feels like I return more than 30% of things I buy online. With a style curation company, If the they designed the style questionnaire well and the stylist really takes time to know you and your style, what they pick for you should be PERFECT. It was the case with EUJEANCO for me â" they sent me 5 pairs of jeans that all fit like a glove. Compared to returning 30% of what I buy back to the retailers, I want to have my purchases actually fit so I can keep them! (Her eâs a promo code to save $15 from the $25 styling fee, which if you end up keeping the jeans, it will be applied toward the purchase of it!)In addition, Iâve also tried Trunk Club mm. LaFleur. While they definitely have quality pieces, in my personal experience their curation process fall short compared to DilayLook and EuJeancoâs. WHEREVER YOU ARE - Three Ways to Handle Your Encore Career Transition I am a quote junky. Quotes provide me with inspiration, provoke my thinking and get my day off to a great start. I read this one by Eckhart Tolle which motivated me to write todays blog. Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your âhere and nowâ intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. Many of my clients bemoan the fact that they are 50+ and dont know what to do with their lives next and feel like the golden years are not what they thought it would be as they look at another 30-40 years of life. Tolles three options, can be applied to encore career seekers: 1. Remove yourself from the situation. Its a little tough to turn back the chronological clock on age. Whats intolerable and makes us unhappy, is the negative mindset around age. Memory and eyesight are going, energy is lagging, lack of appreciation, age discrimination, and medical issues. Removing yourself from the situation of negative thinking about this encore stage of life is the first step to take. Instead, be grateful for a longer life and what you can do with it. Focus on the positives of being 50+. You have survived. You possess unique talents and skill that can be used. Engage in possibility thinking. Take time to make a list of your top reasons why it is great to be in the encore stage of life. Revisit the list often to keep the positivity going. 2. Change it. This option is all about morphing into a new life. Finances often play heavily in choices. Take the time to analyze the budget. What is the bare minimum you can earn and live comfortably. Maybe it is time to downsize. I often advise clients to start living on their skinnied down budget at least one year before they are going to make a change in careers. That will be a good test to see if you can make it work for you. If not, then it means you need to earn more. If you want to go back to school to pursue a new profession- enroll. Just take a few classes while you are gainfully employed! If you want more flexibility in your career ask your current employer. If you want a new career start researching before you leave your job and work with a coach. If you want to just kick back and relax enjoy! 3. Accept it totally. The cycle of change follows the SARA model. Shock, anger, recognition and acceptance. Change is not easy and acceptance is often a bumpy road as we navigate the first three stages of SARA. The sooner you get to acceptance, the more comfortable you will be to move boldly into the change that is needed. Accept that 30-40 more years of life is a gift. It is a time to do over. But, this time you have the wisdom you didnt have in your youth. It can be a time of retooling, renewal, and reinvention. Tolle encourages us to ponder: Wherever you are, be there totally.
